2 Wins during LLI 2016

SASA U13 boys opened up Midwest Regional League play with 2 wins during the Lincoln Land Invitational weekend as host to four of the First Division teams in their pool of play.

TOSA Kickers of Milwaukee area and the Croatian Eagles, also Wisconsin fell to the Spirits 1-0 and 2-0 respectively. After winning their pool last fall with a 6-1 record and a +23 goal differential, things got a little tighter as the level of competition has been stepped up due to First Division promotion.

Ethan Alexander hit a 30 yard dead ball over the wall with a few minutes remaining to take down a very talented TOSA team. With players out due to Spring break and injury it was a team effort as players had to shift out of position and hold on for the win. Zach Rottinghaus scored off a corner and Cayden Sporrer scored an outstanding break away on a pass from Rowan Goebel- Bain for the win against Eagles.

Two teams from St Louis also were on hand to play the Wisconsin teams. Next up the U13s travel to St Louis on April 10th for a meeting with #4 regionally ranked powerhouse Sporting Limpert in MRL play.

Thank you again SASA for hosting MRL. Home field advantage early in the season is a great thing to have!
