Most SASA coaches played college soccer and have friends and contacts in the college soccer coaching ranks.  Asking your SASA coach to contact a college coach on your behalf is a great way to start the conversation with a college coach.  Even if your SASA coach doesn’t know the coaches at a school you are interested in, the coach may know of someone who knows the coach and can help you.

Now, before you ask, be sure you are ready to follow up.  If the college coach responds to your SASA coach, the next contact step will be up to you.  If you don't respond, the college coach may wonder if you have the initiative to make it at the college level.

A great time to ask your SASA coach for help is before a tournament or a college ID camp that the college coach will be attending.
