IDPH Restore Illinois Phase 3 Youth Sports Guidelines
Yesterday the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) issued new Youth Sports Guidelines as part of Restore Illinois Phase 3. Prior to that the Illinois Youth Soccer Association (IYSA) published a four-page document establishing a protocol for all soccer clubs to follow for the restoration of soccer activities.
SASA is carefully reviewing all documents to develop club-specific procedures for the resumption of official soccer activities. Those procedures will be announced in the near future and will cover everything from the structure of official soccer training sessions to sanitation to reporting COVID-19 diagnoses. Until then, every family should take a few minutes to review the documents and understand the requirements, as it will be a big change for all of us.
The documents include the following for Phase 3:
SASA Spirits Soccer Club joins IYSA in being "dedicated to protecting the health and safety of our soccer community. We understand that our members want to get back on the field, but this must be done with strict focus on the safety of the players, coaches, referees and families and follow state and local guidelines for resumption of activities."
If the links above do not work, you may find the documents on the IYSA website at
