Robert Morris University-Springfield Awarded 2015-16 USCAA Soccer National Championships

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Robert Morris University-Springfield has been selected as the host for the 2015 and 2016 USCAA Soccer National Championships. The championships will be hosted at the Springfield Area Soccer Association (SASA) Complex in Springfield, Illinois. “The United States Collegiate Athletic Association is extremely excited to bring the Soccer National Championships to Springfield, Illinois.” states USCAA Chief Operating Officer Matt Simms. “Robert Morris University-Springfield has a proven track record of producing quality championship events, most recently with the 2012 and 2014 Baseball National Championship. I know that Athletic Director Justin Merriss, Tournament Director Chuck Equez, as well as their staff and partners, will give our student-athletes a first-class experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives.” Robert Morris University-Springfield is located in Illinois’ state capital.

Synonymous with Abraham Lincoln, and rich with many historic, cultural, and recreational activities, Springfield offers plenty for teams and fans to do during their free time. The SASA Soccer Complex offers two full-size collegiate soccer fields, plenty of spectator seating, and Wi-Fi access. The complex is located just minutes from the host hotels in downtown Springfield. “The entire soccer community in Springfield, Illinois is ecstatic and proud to welcome the USCAA National Soccer Tournament, and we look forward to showcasing our soccer complex, school, and city for all the participants and guests," states Chuck Eguez, Tournament Director and Men’s Soccer Coach at Robert Morris University-Springfield.

The 2015 USCAA Soccer National Championships Series is scheduled for November 4-7. The 2014 Championships will return for a second year in Charleston, West Virginia, hosted by WVU Tech, and take place on November 5-8.
